and here..

Recently, my mum decided to cook serunding, its kind of thin slices of meat..

so, yeah.. this is my 1st time seeing how a serunding is cooked..

helping my mum in tearing the meat apart, to thin slices is quite a tedious work..

we do not own any machine to do so, so we did it manually by our own hand..
and its about 2kg of meat (or more)

people might say, its kind of wasting valuable time in ramadhan cooking this kind of thing.. but, personally, I don’t really agree..

1st – each deed is based on one’s intention.. helping mum is certainly ordained by the All Mighty..

Each deed in this blessing month is certainly reward 7 times more than done on usual days (outside ramadhan month)..

2nd – cooking this favorite dish of others, I now know the hard work done by sellers in cooking this. Often people argue on the prices of serunding sold as they said its quite expensive.. but now, I now to appreciate the work they do to produce this dish..

3rd – the beauty of patience in tearing the meat aparts.. one could  easily given up in this ‘job’.. yet when we saw the thin slices of meat are building up, it gave us the encouragement to do so.. so whenever we do things that we do not see the result right on at that moment, remember, we’re building it up, and eventually it will emerge in front of our sight.. and from His side. with the right intention and way, we’re building ourselves in front of Him..

4th – there’s a saying that says, “makan dari hasil air tangan sendiri itu lebih bermakna”. so yes, this dish now served in our last moments in ramadhan as our ‘sahur’ and ‘breaking fast’..  ^_^

So, in short, it was never a waste for me to join this cooking..

may Allah Subahanna wa Ta’ala accept our deeds..
