a ponder..

now, back in my home country, it kept me on thinking..
on what i've learned back then in 2007, when i was in 2nd year..
a subject which i used to dislike (a softer word to use rather than hate),
but now made me realise, certain things happen for a reason..
well, to look back all the previous things that we had undergo,
somehow in one way or another, make us who we are now..
the past affects the way we see life is now..
and the way we will weigh our decisions making..

okay, the 'ilm' which i kept on ranting about will be organisational behavior..
and to those who enrolled in the same course as i did (before and a year after as it was later demolished from the list of core subject) will know what is it all about..

it was certainly devided into 2 section, 1 will be for the economics part, and the essential which i'm referring to is the psychological part of the human emotions and behaviour..

okay, let talk about our ownself rather than other people although the subject was to uphold how to manage our future-to-be workers or collegues.

let me bring a simple mathematical figure, a straight line curve/graph, which simply has the well-known equation,
y=mx..

let the y-axis be the our goal height and x-axis be the time length..
and our limit/goal will be denoted as the red circle here..

how often when we had a goal set up in our mind, we are eager to reach it ASAP (as soon as possible)..
i.e. our m(slope) to be as high (and +ve) as possible

we (or maybe just me) usually hear talks about the need to put our goal higher than the stars, so that when we fail to reach it we will still drop among the stars..

yes, a goal need to always be put in the list of our life...
this gives our life a path, a way to go on..
but do we really need to make it a must if not compulsory to reach it within a short-time limit..?
you might say, if we do not put a time limit, we will be lagging in reaching our goal or aim..

well, yes.. its true..

but sometimes, things need to be done several times for us to finally reach the goal as close as possible..(or do it in almost perfectly..)

if we look upon our science history, it was said that thomas edison did not come up successfully in his invention on the light bulb..
his attempts was more than 10000 times.. but did he back off from it..?
His goal and determination enable for him to finally reach him dream..
and until to this very moment, the light bulb that we enjoyed using it.. have we ever thank Him, for letting edison the will to continue his effort till he succeed..

well, to bring upon the y=mx graphical view.. sometimes, our red circle will have to move further up the x-axis lane..
yet, does it mean we had failed our dreams..?

as i mentioned earlier, if we were to look at our past history of life,
it somehow shape our way of thinking now and how we put our glass in seeing things that happening to us.. (with a condition, our current mood is in a good state)

considering upon what Paul McGee state in his written book entititled 'self-confidence', the angle that we made as our line of y=mx extend to the right, and our m-value lower down a little, the extra-angle that were made actually will enhance our self-confidence in every seconds that we pass thru our life..

the wider angle (made by the green line) simply portray more confident in life with achiving the same goal target..
thus, sometimes, we need to give time to ourselves to reach our target..
with keeping in mind, we should never take it as a reason why we should slack of in our work to reach it..
( as what imam Hassan al-banna once said, "masa itu sebahagian dari rawatan..")

now to implement what was learned in psychological section of the learned knowledge, let us look upon Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs..

        abraham maslow

if it were first done to analyze how to motivate individuals to give their best to the organization or company they are employ, let consider this hierarchy of needs in our daily life..

upon the surface of what stated in the hierarchy, when were ask to fill on our life prospects, most of us will for sure see that our self-actualization needs in our life is achivements...

esteem needs as how people will look upon us aka status..

belonging needs as being accepted in the enviroment that we will be living in..

security needs as our preparation to face whatever things that will encounter us in the future..

and physiological needs will be anything that will somehow control our emotional situation, which now i guess will be our financial needs..

all stated earlier will be true for a work-life enviroment in all organization and company..
as we know, a successful company and organization will be the one who not only look upon to reach the goals, but to ensure the well-being of each of its worker.. from the lowest level in the positions of the job in the company to the top.. as each play a significant role in determining the success of the company..
let me quote upon the famous malay peribahasa which as i can remember, sang as

' kerana setitik nila, rosak susu sebelanga '

which direct translation will play as,
'because of a drop of blue dye, the whole tank of milk will be ruin'
(im soO not good in translating bm-english-bm)

the milk in a tank will picture as the people in an organization or company, and if care is not done to each drop of milk in it, the dye even a drop in it, will ruin the whole tank of milk..
(try it if you dont believe this ^_^)

also take this likeness/perumpamaan of in our individual self..

as in the hadith number 6th, compiled by Imam Nawawi, which prophet muhammad (saw) end in his say which mean as..

"..Indeed, there is bloody small part in the body when it is sound, the entire body will be sound, and if it spoiled, the entire body will be spoil. Indeed, it is the heart".. (Bukhari and Muslims)

if we wonder numerous time why we did not get anything the way we wanted it to be..
time to ponder upon what have we done in our life to gain everythings that we want according to our way and likness.

"It it Allah who has created seven heavens and of the earth, the like of them. His commands descends among them so you know that Allah is over all things competent and that Allah has encompassed all things in knowledge"
[at-thalaq(65):12]

one of the All Mighty (Azza wa Jaála) say which emphasized that He id the Power of all things in the heavens and earth, and everything happens according to His will.
For my wish list and yours to be answered, will need an effort to satisfy The Most Generous and Ever Loving, Allah Taála..

back to the abraham hierarchy needs diagram..
if we know our purpose of life in this earth, we will know what will be our self-actualization need or achievements..
this life is like a roller coaster ride..
sometimes we will face things that will cross our heart beats, and sometimes the winds that blow on our face will shake us into reality..
but the thrill in each phase we're going thru that had kept us on going till this very moment..
try to imagine for a moment..
if we werer to halt our roller coaster ride all of a sudden, we will be stuck at that position for ever..
we might fall if the stop was when the phase of the coaster is straightly upside down or was hit by the next coaster behind us..
and one uphold thing is, we will never reach the end of the ride we've first dreamed of it..
If we choose not to complete the course ride, we will never gain confident to ride it again.. (and not to say, a waste of money paying for the ride)..

Again, how do we face this challenge for the first time if we don't even have confident in facing it..?

Which now personally, i'll say its the trust i have in the One who created me and this world im living it..

"And whoever relied upon Allah, then He is sufficient for him. Ideed, Allah will accomplish HIs purpose. Allah has already set for everything a decreed extend"
[at-thalaq:3]

next, move on to the esteem needs..
often do we wondered.. "what will the society look me as..?.."
but, do we know, a more higher status should be our aim to gain..

"The most honorable of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous among you"
[al-hujurat(49):13]

now, i guess, in my esteem needs, i should put His 'sight' towards me first then only others view on me..

for the belonging needs..
this is a hard-if not difficult point in the current world life..
because of the bad view that was always given to those who put up islam as their faith, it almost impossible to give good impression on what we really are, although in real, we are as good and sensible as what the world define good as..

prophet (saw) state that,
"Ad-deenun naseehah
which means, religousity is the nasihah(loyalty, support & advice of good)..

so, practice the true meaning of this deen if you want to be accepted by the society..
practice in every aspect our life..
and not just our solat or fasting, but also in our conversations and how we interact we others..
to be simple.. take the teaching of islam as our way of life.. (no alteration on whatsoever aspect please..)

about the security needs..
yes we need to plan our life..
to be ready of anything that unpredictable things could happen to us..
such as savings and such..
but let us wonder,
if we say we have/believe in this faith, means we know there will be here-after life..
so are we ready to face it in this latter life..?
what have we done to ensure our security in the day of ressurection..?
a point to wonder..
some might say, well, if its important, why is is at the 2nd bottom of hierarchy list..?
but take a look at it width..
isnt' it wider than anything higher before it in this 'priority' list..?
so, should we put little effort in it while the width in this list simply potray the need to do much to prepare for it..

last but not least, the physiological needs..
we know that to build a high building or a hierarchy in this case, we need to have a strong base..
in each day of our life, our decisions will always in the end influence by our heart..
again, as what prophet (saw) said about the state of the heart, to make the body in a good manner, the heart will need to be at its best..
the body good state will determine how we build our building, how we design to be..
that material will we use, and the well-being of once it was built..
i know im not an architecture to say all about building stuffs, but my 4 semesters of design subjects made me realise the essential things needed to build a strong, stable building with all criterias needed..
again, one the building is built, the only way to ensure it maintain in a good state is by making maintenance check up now and then..
and in this life..
we should always ensure our heart is in the good, healthy state..
this is why reflection mode important to us each night of the day.. if not each minute..

okay, everything that was written was to be as a reminder for the writer itself..

as now being back in the reality life..
it is easy to be divert off by all things that are 'haunting' this world..
